Plaster skim coat

Plaster walls frequently develop a network of hairline cracks that are too narrow to be filled with patching plaster, yet they cannot be covered with paint. The best way to restore the wall surface is by skim-coating it. Skim-coating is the technique of applying thin layers of gypsum-based joint compound over the entire surface. Usually it takes 3 to 4 coats before applying finish paint. (347)-228-3956

Drywall Sheetrock skim coat

A skim coat is a thin coat of joint compound-also known as mud-that you can use to repair damaged plaster walls or smooth damaged drywall Sheetrock walls. You may need a skim coat if you are repairing a crack, filling a joint, or leveling an area with an existing flat surface. The key is to have a smooth, level surface, before painting this is done by skim-coating the damaged area of the wall with 3 coats, so we recommend skim coating before any finish paint can be applied. Level-5 finish

A level five finish refers to drywall Sheetrock that has first been finished taped, it takes your normal drywall finishing process one step further. This process removes the tool marks and the bare part of Sheetrock by applying a thin skim-coat to the entire surface. The skim coat is checked with a halogen light to look for any imperfections. There are instances when you need a level 5 coating: when the finish paint will be glossy; or when there is a lot of lighting that highlight bumps and depressions. (347)-228-3956

Wallpaper removal

Peeling and scraping off layers of old wallpaper off plaster walls or drywall Sheetrock can leave the walls beneath covered in adhesive. Worse, it can leave them pitted and scarred from your attempts to remove every last shred of paper. Before you can paint over these wounded surfaces, you must return them to a perfect smoothness. As with most skim coat jobs, preparation is key for painting, and the quality of your paint job depends on the quality of the skim-coat.

Concrete skim coat

Skim-coating concrete slab or concrete block is a process of applying a thin layer of materials over a concrete wall or block This usually takes 3 or 4 coats to complete before painting can be applied. It's used in basements, garages In commercial business to even out the rough and uneven concrete surface. This process is a good way to prepare for painting or other finishing. (347)-228-3956
